Dag Otto Lauritzen

Dag Otto Lauritzen ( born September 12, 1956 in Grimstad ) is a former Norwegian racing cyclist.

Lauritzen was in the 1983 amateur national champion in the team time trial and won in 1983 and 1984 for road single race of the Nordic Championships. In 1984, he was also Norwegian champion in the road race and won the single ninth stage of the Tour of Austria. At the Summer Olympics in the same year in Los Angeles, he won behind the American Alexi Grewal and the Canadian Steve Bauer the bronze medal in the road race.

Dag Otto Lauritzen After the games moved to the professionals and in 1986 was third in the overall standings of the Tour du Haut -Var. A year later he won the race Around the Henninger Tower and Luz Ardiden in the 14th stage of the Tour de France. In 1989 he won in the overall standings of the Tour de Trump, Tour DuPont from 1991 emerged, and finished third overall in the Tour of Flanders. In 1993, he won the third stage of the Tour of Britain and the 14th stage of the Vuelta a España for themselves. A year later he retired from competitive sports and then worked among others for the Norwegian television station TV2 as a sports commentator for cycling events, as well as ambassadors for the promotion of the city of Tromsø to host the Winter Olympics in 2018.
