Daga is an island in the south of Lake Tana in Ethiopia, only one-half mile southeast of the much larger island of Dek located. The 0.5 km ² island reached its highest point 100 m above the lake level. On the non- accessible for women island about 200 monks live in the monastery of Daga Estifanos ( " St. Michael of Daga " ) who reject also the management of farm animals. In the monastery the bones of several Ethiopian rulers are laid out. Among others here find the partially mummified remains of Yekuno Amlak, David I., Zara Yaqob, Za Dengel, Fasilides and Bakaffa.
