Dagenham East tube station

Dagenham East is an aboveground station London Underground in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 5 on the Rainham Road. In the year 2011 there were 2.22 million passengers these from the District Line station.

The opening took place in 1888 under the name of Dagenham, as the London, Tilbury and Southend Railway took a direct route running between Barking and Southend -on-Sea in operation, without going through Tilbury. Trains on the District Line held for the first time on July 2, 1902, however, the subway was shut down on the section east of East Ham already on September 30th, 1905 again. Since the completion of the electrification of the line between Barking and Upminster on September 12, 1932 Dagenham East is again served by the District Line. The trains of the railway on here since 1962 through without stopping.

There are three platforms. While the newer island platform keep the regular trains on the District line, turn on the main platform single subway trains ahead of time and then go back to the city center. The older island platform between the tracks of the railway is no longer used. The station buildings created as part of the electrification almost entirely new, but individual items from the Victorian era are still visible.
