Dagmar Manzel

Dagmar Manzel ( born September 1, 1958 in East Berlin ) is a German actress.

Life

The daughter of a teacher couple, Paul and Anne Marie Manzel (born Romans ) received after high school from 1977 to 1980 training at the Academy of Dramatic Arts "Ernst Busch " Berlin. Already in the second year, she played in a recorded televised staging of the Urfaust.

In 1980 she was engaged at the State Theatre Dresden and 1983 at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, which became her artistic home soon. From 1983 to 2001 she was a member of the house as a permanent member and worked at this time with directors such as Thomas Langhoff, Heiner Müller, Thomas Schulte- Michels and Frank Castorf together.

In addition to her acting work, she appears as a guest and again and again in musical theater productions. So they took over in 2002 the title role in Thomas Schulte- Michels staging of Jacques Offenbach's operetta The Grand Duchess of Gerolstein at the Deutsches Theater Berlin and also played the lead role in his production of Offenbach's operetta La Périchole 2008 at the Berliner Ensemble.

In autumn 2004, Dagmar Manzel played at the Komische Oper Berlin, the female lead in the much -vaunted German premiere of Stephen Sondheim's musical Sweeney Todd, directed by Christopher Bond, the presentation of which is based Sondheim piece originally.

2012 Manzel was honored for her supporting role in The Invisible Drama Christian Schwochows with the German Film Award. In November 2013 it was announced that Manzel will play in the future second crime scene team of Bayerischer Rundfunk, which determines in Franconia, as Chief Inspector Paula Wiesner.

From 2012, she was with Seven Songs / The Seven Deadly Sins on the stage of the Komische Oper Berlin.

Her daughter Klara Manzel is also an actress.
