Dagmar Neubauer in 1984

Dagmar Neubauer, née Rübsam, ( born June 3, 1962 in Suhl ) is a former German track and field athlete. It achieved its greatest success with the 4 x 400 - meter relay in the GDR, with which it was 1983 and 1987 World Champion.

Life

1979, it was European Junior Champion in the 400 -meter individual race and the season. 1981 and 1982 they GDR champion was in the hall in 1982 and outdoors. At the European Indoor Championships in 1982, she won the silver medal. At the European Championships in the same year Rübsam was European champion in the relay and the individual they reached sixth place. The following year, she also won at the World Championships in Helsinki with the relay gold and finished seventh in the singles final.

At the European Indoor Championships 1985, she was behind her teammate Sabine Busch. In Rome in 1987 Rübsam could defend with the relay world title. In 1988, she won at the European Indoor Championships bronze at the Olympic Games in Seoul was she with the squadron third parties.

Neubauer started for the SC Turbine Erfurt and coached at Eberhard König. In her playing days, she was 1.70 m tall and weighed 58 kg. In the becoming public knowledge after the fall of documents to the state doping in the GDR was found in the doped athletes also the name of Neubauer.
