Dagstuhl

The Leibniz Center for computer science ( LTI ) at Schloss Dagstuhl in the Saarland Wadern was founded in 1989. By April 2008, the name of the center was: The International Conference and Research Center for computer science ( IBFI ). The LTI is a member of the Leibniz Association and is mainly due financed by federal and state governments.

History

Since 1990, the Dagstuhl Castle houses in Wadern the Leibniz Center for computer science (formerly The International Conference and Research Center for computer science ( IBFI ) ). In 1993, the 200 year old building with a modern extension with additional guest rooms, conference rooms and a library. Since 1 January 2005, the LTI member of the Leibniz Association.

Objectives and tasks

The LZI promotes computer science, where it aligns high-profile seminars on current computer science topics. The seminars will be established following an assessment by the Scientific Directorate and lead personally invited academic and industrial researchers from around the world to current computer science topics together. In addition, the center offers research groups, summer schools, research training groups and individuals the possibility to perform workshops, educational seminars and retreats. Every year, approximately 3500 researchers found on almost 100 events. The center has an excellent computer science specialist library.

Foundation

The Foundation promotes computer science center Schloss Dagstuhl Schloss Dagstuhl. This is done in particular to the promotion of young scientists, such as subsidies for participation by the LTI seminars organized.

The Foundation accepts both individuals as well as companies and institutions as a member. Also, single events are sponsored by companies. The Foundation is a non profit organization.
