Daichi Sawano

Daichi Sawano (泽 野 大地Japanese Daichi Sawano; born September 16, 1980 at Higashiyodogawa -ku, Osaka ) is a Japanese pole-vaulters.

Previously he was eight Japanese master ( 1999, 2000, 2003, 2004, 2006-2009) and set three national records, as last with 5.83 m on 3 May 2005 in Shizuoka.

He became Asian champions in 2002, but failed the following year at the World Athletics Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis in qualifying. At the 2004 Olympics in Sydney he came on the 13th Place. The following year he was again champions of Asia and in the World Championships in Helsinki rollercoaster, and in 2006 he won at the Asian Games in Doha gold.

In 2008 he retired from in qualifying at the Olympic Games in Beijing. At the World Championships in Berlin in 2009 he was tenth.
