Daihatsu Move ( 1st generation)

The Daihatsu Move is a produced by the Japanese car manufacturer Daihatsu Microvan, based on the Daihatsu Cuore. Designed by Giorgio Giugiaro car combines the spatial concept of Vans with the low outside measurements of very small cars.

Model history

The Move is available in Japan since August 1995 and was there with 500,000 copies sold within the first three years a great success. This was mainly due to the fact that for the approval of the Move in the Tokyo area (other than for larger cars) no parking space had to be detected due to its short length.

In May 1997, the move came as the first Microvan ever on the German market. The first-generation models ( L600 ) were 3.31 m long, 1.70 m high and 1.40 m wide and were only driven by a 847 cc glass and 42 -hp three-cylinder engine. It is unusual that the Move is equipped with four sliding in length and fully adjustable individual seats and has a side-opening tailgate. In 1998, the Daihatsu in length grown on 3.41 m and with a 989 - cc engine (55 hp) equipped second generation of a Move.

In 2002 came to Japan, the third generation of the Daihatsu Move ( L150/L160 ) on the market. In Germany this model was no longer offered. Also presented in October 2006 current model is not exported to Europe.
