Daily Monitor

Daily Monitor is one of the two major national newspapers in Uganda, along with New Vision. A circulation of about 20,000 and is based in Kampala.

The newspaper was founded under the name of The Monitor in 1992 as an independent newspaper by six journalists. In October 2002, the editor was closed by the state for ten days after the newspaper had reported on a secret military operation. In 2005 she was renamed the Daily Monitor.
