Daily Star (United Kingdom)

The Daily Star is a British tabloid newspaper published on 2 November 1978. He is like the Daily Express to Express Newspapers and thus to Northern & Shell group by Richard Desmond. The rest ( "Average Net Circulation" ) is currently (October 2009) 836 556 copies. The Sundays appearing sister publication titled Daily Star Sunday.

Coverage focuses in lurid fashion to sports and gossip about stars and celebrities from the field of show business, the soap operas and reality TV. The political setting is primarily conservative. As with the competition of The Sun with its " Page Three girls " can be found in every issue of the photograph of a woman posing nude or topless.

In the case of missing Madeleine McCann, the sheet was just like the other Express Newspapers sued by the parents of the missing child for slander reporting. In March 2008, a settlement was reached, the newspaper group £ 550,000 (then about 700,000 euros ) paid for the Find Madeleine Campaign, and all the newspapers involved in the campaign abdruckten an apology on the front page.
