Daingerfield is the capital and the county seat ( county seat ) of Morris County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city is centrally located in Orange County, almost in the extreme northeast Texas, is in the north approximately 50 miles from Oklahoma and Arkansas, to the southeast about 60 miles from Louisiana and has a total area of 6.3 km ² without significant water surface.

History

1740, the first Europeans near a spring, where is the city today, camped. 1830 Captain London Daingerfield had, after whom the city was named, with about 100 men precisely in this source a skirmish with Indians, in which he fell. The median income for a household was $ 28,333, and the median income for a family $ 31,625. Males have a median income of $ 31,154 versus $ 19,196 for females.
