Daisy Granados
Daisy Granados López ( born December 9, 1942 in Cienfuegos ) is a Cuban actress. It shall apply with their extensive filmography today as the "Diva of the Cuban film ".
Life
Granados studied at the Escuela Nacional de Arte in Havana and began as a theater actress. In 1964 she made her debut in front of the camera in José Massips film La decisión. After that, she also appeared in European productions such as Egon Günther Satire If you're tall, dear Adam (1965 ) Víctor Erice and Los Desafios (1969). Under the direction of her husband, Pastor Vega she had in 1979 in the title role of the film Retrato de Teresa her international breakthrough and received several awards, including the International Film Festival in Moscow. The film focuses on the example of a weaver with the position of women in Cuban society and their attempt to break out of the traditional, macho role model.
The award-winning actress Granados worked with the Cuban Tomás Gutiérrez Alea directors ( Memorias del subdesarrollo ) and Humberto Solás ( Cecilia ) and represented her country at numerous international events. In 2007 she was awarded the National Film Award Cuba.
