Daito Takahashi

Daito Takahashi (Japanese Daito Takahashi高桥 大 斗; born December 16, 1980 in Kita- Akita, Akita Prefecture) is a Japanese skiers who start from 1999 to 2012 as Nordic combined and ski jumping internationally since then.

Career

Nordic Combined

Daito Takahashi is a successful combiner, though he previously never won a medal at major events. The launching of Tsuchiya Home athletes engaged in the sport since 1993. His national debut in 1998, his international 1999, in a World Cup in Vuokatti ( 38 ). Since then he has competed in over 125 World Cup races. In January 2000, he arrived in Val di Fiemme in eighth place for the first time among the top 10 in 2002 he came in third in Liberec for the first time on the podium. Finally, in the World Cup season 2003/ 04 he was able to win in Lahti on two consecutive days, both his first and only World Cup race.

At the Olympic Games in 2002 and 2006 in Salt Lake City and Turin, he took up in all three races of the combination. His best finish was a sixth place in the sprint of Soldier Hollow. In Pragelato Plan, he was also with the team in sixth, but missed a medal with little more than a second behind in a thrilling finale just barely. His performances at Nordic World Ski Championships were mostly mixed, his best rankings in 2003, a tenth rank in singles and in 2005, the same rank in the sprint. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo he crashed heavily during a jump and broke a shoulder.

Takahashi is one of the strongest knight in the subscriber box combiner.
