Dalaman is a small town in Muğla Province on the southwestern Mediterranean coast of Turkey.

Economically, the paper industry, the farming industry and the International Dalaman Airport play an important role. The commissioning of the airport around the year 1987 favored the development of tourism in the region. It is served from April to November of international charter airlines. All year round there are scheduled flights to Istanbul and Ankara.

Important tourist centers in the region to Dalaman, for example, Dalyan, Marmaris and Fethiye and the resort Sarıgerme.

At the same Dalaman River Akköprü the dam was built in 2008.
