Dalia Sofer

Dalia Sofer (born 1972 in Tehran ) is an Iranian -born American writer.

Sofer was born in Tehran and grew up in a Jewish family. Together with her family she fled at the age of 10 years in the United States. She studied French literature at New York University and graduated with a Master of Fine Arts from Sarah Lawrence College. Her first novel, The September of Shiraz, she published in 2007.

Sofer received in 2008 a Robert Bingham Fellowship and currently lives in New York.
