Dallas County (Iowa)
The Dallas County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. In the census in 2010, the County had 66 135 inhabitants and a population density of 43.5 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is nobility.
The Dallas County is part of the metropolitan area around the city of Des Moines.
Geography
The County is located a few kilometers southwest of the geographic center of Iowa in the western suburbs of Des Moines Iowa's capital city and is crossed in the north- east from the Des Moines River. The Dallas County has an area of 1,533 square kilometers, of which 14 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered by the following counties:
History
The Dallas County was formed on January 13, 1846 from former parts of Polk County. It was named after George Mifflin Dallas (1792-1864), the eleventh Vice President of the United States ( 1845-1849 ).

According to the census in 2010 lived in Dallas County 66 136 people in 21 061 households. The population density was 43.5 inhabitants per square kilometer.
The racial the population was composed of 92.2 percent white, 1.4 percent African American, 0.2 percent Native American, 2.5 percent Asian and other ethnic groups; 1.5 percent were descended from two or more races. Regardless of ethnicity or 6.1 percent of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
