Dalwhinnie

Dalwhinnie (Gaelic: Dail Chuinnidh ) is a village in the Scottish Highland Unitary Authority. It is located about 60 km southwest of Inverness and 70 miles north-west of Perth.

Climatically Dalwhinnie is one of the coldest inhabited places in Scotland. The mean annual temperature is only 6.3 ° C.

Since 1897, the Dalwhinnie distillery is located there. This is the highest active distillery in Scotland. Owner is currently the international group Diageo.

Traffic

Dalwhinnie is located on the major highway A9, which connects Edinburgh with Thurso.
