Daly Waters, Northern Territory

Daly Waters is a settlement in the Australian state of Northern Territory with just 16 inhabitants, but which is found on many maps of the continent. It is located about 620 kilometers south of Darwin, a few kilometers west of the Stuart Highway and thus in a largely unpopulated area.

Daly Waters is famous for his " Stuart Tree" (English: Stuart 's Tree ), in the John McDouall Stuart S einschnitzte, as he crossed Australia in 1862. " Waters " in the name of Daly Waters refers to the natural springs that supplied Stuart, among others, with the water that he desperately needed for his crossing of Australia.
