Damal is a town and a district of Ardahan Province in the far north-eastern Turkey. Damal located in the northern part of the province, bordering with a small part of Georgia. The county has 6,245 inhabitants Damal, the city 3,416 (as of 2012).

Both the town and the villages of the district are populated by Alevi Turkmen.

The mountains in Damal are known to reflect on certain days of the silhouette of the Turkish state's founder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. This event takes place every year between 15 June and 15 July after 18:00 clock for several minutes instead.
