Damaraland

Damaraland is still derived from the German colonial era name for the main settlement area of ​​the tribe of the Damara in Namibia, also called Dama or Bergdamara. It extends south of the Kaokoveld to about the present-day National Road B2 between Swakopmund and Usakos and ranges in the west to the Skeleton Coast approach. Part of which is also the Groot Plateau.

The name Damaraland was then taken over by the South African administration in connection with the Odendaal Plan as the name for the the Damara assigned Homeland and has survived to this day, although it is officially no longer exists Damaraland Namibia's independence and the abolition of the Homelands.
