DaMarcus Lamont Beasley ( born May 24, 1982 in Fort Wayne, Indiana) is an American football player.
During his time with the Chicago Fire, he was one of the best players in Major League Soccer. In the UEFA Champions League, he scored a total of more goals than any other U.S. players.
Career
Youth
Beasley visited in 1998-1999, the IMG Soccer Academy, an institution of the American Football Association, in Bradenton, Florida. Before that time, he played in the high school team in the South Side High School in Fort Wayne. In the U- 17 World Cup 1999 in New Zealand, the midfielder won behind his team-mate Landon Donovan the "Silver Ball" as the second best player of the tournament.
Major League Soccer
On 16 March 1999 DaMarcus Beasley played for the first time for Los Angeles Galaxy. But as he stood in any official match on the pitch he was given in 2000 to the Chicago Fire SC. In Chicago, he developed into a very good player. In four years, he scored 14 goals and 20 prepared before. In 2003 he was in the best eleven of the MLS. On July 16, 2004 in the middle of the current season, he signed a contract with PSV Eindhoven over 4 years. The Major League Soccer has received 2.5 million U.S. dollars transfer fee.
PSV Eindhoven
PSV coach Guus Hiddink was Beasley as the successor of Arjen Robben play, who moved to Chelsea. So he wore the number 11 in his first season was Beasley 29 times on the court, scoring 6 goals. His first season in Europe has been crowned with the title. On May 28, 2005 PSV also won the Amstel Cup on penalties. Beasley scored the equalizing goal in the regular season.
The second season in the Netherlands was not crowned with success. He was loaned on 31 August 2006 at Manchester City. Due to an injury he did not play regularly. On 30 December 2006 he scored his first goal in the Premier League.
Glasgow Rangers
On 27 June 2007 he transferred for £ 700,000 to the Glasgow Rangers. In early August, he played his debut and scored his first goal for the club in a Champions League qualifier against Zeta Golubovci. In November, Beasley injured so badly in a match against VfB Stuttgart that it turned out most of the season. He returned to the team on 10 May 2008. In the Scottish Cup final he scored one goal and set up another front.
At the beginning of the season 2009/10 Beasley came only sporadically used. In order to maintain a place in the national squad for the FIFA World Cup 2010, he wanted to return the U.S. in December 2009. Shortly after this became known, he graduated from the upcoming games and showed very good performances. He said then to try to stay with the Rangers, despite an offer from FC Motherwell. Glasgow was champion, but because Beasley had participated in only eight games, he did not even get a championship medal (medals get in Scotland only players who were involved in over 25% of all games).
June 30, 2010 Beasley left the Rangers after his contract had expired.
Hannover 96
On August 30, 2010 Beasley moved to German Bundesliga side Hannover 96 He signed a two-year contract. His first game for the Reds, he completed on 31 August 2010 in a friendly match against the HSC Hannover. In the Bundesliga, but he came only to four inserts.
Puebla FC
Since 2011, Beasley plays for Puebla FC.
National
Beasley plays for the U.S. national soccer team. His first game he completed on January 27, 2001 against China. He played for the U 20 at the Junior World Championship 2001 in Argentina. Beasley took the U.S. to the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea, in 2006 in Germany and 2010 in South Africa in part.
On May 29, 2013, made his 100th game in the 2:4 defeat to Belgium. For the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2013 national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann appointed him captain.
Private
His older brother Jamar Beasley plays in Major League Soccer with the Kansas City Wizards. He is also a member of the U.S. Futsal National Team.
On 16 January 2006, he was caught driving under the influence of alcohol. He was ordered to pay 1,500 euros. He also lost his license for three months.
In September 2009, Beasley brought together with the Scottish company The Diamond Studio out his own jewelry line.
