Damayanti Tambay

Damayanti Tambay ( born 1948, born Damayanti Subedar ) is an Indian Badminton player, high school teacher, civil rights activist and an activist in the women's movement.

Career

Damayanti Tambay won from 1968 to 1970 three women's singles title in a row at the National Championships in Indian badminton. In 1968, she was also in the women's doubles success. Later she was Sportinstrukteur at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi.

Since the India-Pakistan war in the early 1970s, is her husband, Indian army officer, lost. Among other things, therefore Tambay politically active in the civil rights and women's movement.
