Damian Harris

Damian Harris ( born August 2, 1958 in London, England, United Kingdom; sometimes DD Harris) is a British- American film director and screenwriter.

Life and achievements

Damian Harris grew up in England. He is a son of Elizabeth Rees ( Elizabeth Rees- Williams) and the actor Richard Harris. The parents were married from 1957 to 1969. His younger brothers are the actors Jared Harris ( born 1961 ) and Jamie Harris ( b. 1963 ). Jared was the husband of actress Emilia Fox. Damian Harris ' stepfather was Rex Harrison, with which the mother was married from 1971 to 1975 in second marriage. In his childhood, Harris observed shooting the film directors David Lean and Sam Peckinpah. In 1968, he stepped on an Unlucky called Otley ( Otley ) with Romy Schneider as a child in the film.

In the 1980s he moved to the United States, where he was trained at New York University. It wrote the script for Night of the Realm and resulted in short films. His first feature film was He? Will! Not you? ( The Rachel Papers ) ( 1989), based on a novel by Martin Amis. For this film, Harris won in 1991 at the Paris Film Festival a Special Jury Prize. It was followed by the thriller Bad Company (1995 ) with Ellen Barkin and Laurence Fishburne, Deceived ( Deceived ) ( 1991) with Goldie Hawn and Mercy - The Dark Side of Lust ( Mercy ) (2000 ) with Ellen Barkin and Peta Wilson.

Harris has from a divorced marriage a daughter named Ella. Later he had in common with the Australian actress Peta Wilson, the lead actress of the TV series Nikita, a son named Marlowe, who was born in 2002. Harris and Wilson met in 1992, soon after moving to Los Angeles, and parted after about ten years.
