Damien Brunner

Damien Brunner (born 9 March 1986) is a Swiss ice hockey player who is currently with the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Damien Brunner began his career in the offspring of the EHC Kloten. Between 2002 and 2006 he played the elite A-Juniors. During the season 2005 /06 he was also the partner team, the EHC Winterthur from the first league to use. During the following season Brunner debuted in the National League A for the Kloten Flyers. During the 2008/ 09 season he moved in exchange for Thomas Walser to EV train. In the 2009/10 season Brunner was the fourth best scorer of the championship.

The season 2011/12 ended the attacker finally with a points haul of 60 points as the most successful points scorer of the league, and was thus the first Swiss player in 30 years to have managed this. Previously, the last time with Guido Lindemann in the 1981/82 season a Swiss player's season ended as the top scoring player in the league.

In July 2012, Brunner signed a contract with the Detroit Red Wings. However, for the duration of the NHL lockout in the 2012/13 season he returned again back to first train. After the end of the NHL lockout, he could win a regular place immediately with the Red Wings. His first goal for Detroit contributed Brunner on January 22, 2013 in a 1-2 defeat against the Dallas Stars at. On February 24, 2013 at 8:3 win over the Vancouver Canucks Brunner was credited as the first Swiss four points scorer in an NHL game leave (two goals and two assists). On September 24, 2013, the signing of a contract with the New Jersey Devils was announced after Brunner was able to convince the training camp.

Internationally

Brunner took with the Swiss national ice hockey team for the first time participated in the 2010 World Cup in Germany. He took the team to fifth place. In seven games, he scored one goal and prepared four more before. In 2012, he again took part in the World Championship, where he was honored as the best Swiss player and was top scorer with seven points of the team.
