Damien Top

Damien Top ( born July 13, 1963 in Rouen ) is a French tenor and composer. He joined the Management Committee of the Lotte Lehmann Foundation ( USA), Research Associate at the Istituto Judaica di Barletta ( Bibliotheca della Memoria ), is chairman of the Association des Amis de Claude Delvincourt and founded by him in 1992, " Centre International Albert Roussel " and is the artistic director of the Festival International Albert Roussel.

Life

Top Damien is the son of the poet Andrée Brunin. After studying humanities in Lille, he graduated from the University of Paris X Nanterre the degree German Language and cultural history with a diploma and employed at the same time at the National Conservatory of Music of the Lille region ( Conservatoire National de Région de Lille) with performing arts and music. At the National Conservatory in Paris ( Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris), he finished the class by Nicole Broissin (Atelier Lyrique - Opérette ) and took lessons with Isabelle Aboulker ( solfege ) and Rémy Corazza ( phonation ). Damien Top also worked with Galina Vichnievskaïa, Jacques Herbillon and Jean -Christophe Benoit and went with Michel Queval and Sergiu Celibidache in conducting qualified. He conducted the orchestra of the Festival Albert Roussel, Ensemble Joseph Jongen, the Solistes de Brno, the Czech Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra Mihail Jora, etc.

His dual training as an actor and singer allows him to produce on French and foreign stages in a versatile repertoire, but includes both operas and chamber music as well as operetta and musical and poetic recitals.

He also wrote the biographies of Albert Roussel, Sergei Rachmaninov, René de Castera ( the " Salon du Livre " in Hossegor awards ), Émile Goué. He was a guest lecturer at several universities in the Pacific region and in North America (Melbourne, Monash, La Trobe, Wollongong, Wellington, Hawaii, Sherbrooke, Montreal, New York, ...).

Several composers have written works for him: Isabelle Aboulker, Edwin Carr, Françoise Choveaux, Maryse Collache, Harry Cox, Houston Dunleavy, Alain Féron, Jean -Jacques Flament, Wally Karveno, Max Pinchard, Jean -Christophe Rosaz, Horia Surianu, Peter Tahourdin, Robert Trumble, Felix Werder and Jacques Chailley. Damien took top especially in B.N.L. and R.C.P. several cycles of Jules Massenet and romances of Edmond de Coussemaker and melodies of Émile Goué and Claude Guillon - Verne.
