Damir Martin

Damir Martin (born 14 July 1988 Vukovar ) is a Croatian rower.

Martin began in 1999 with the rowing. He was fourth in the coxless four at the Junior World Championships in 2005, a year later at the Junior World Championships in 2006, he finished with Valent Sinković in the double sculls in second place behind the Danish boat. In the U23 World Championships in 2007, he took up in one and reached the fourth place. The World Rowing Championships in 2007, he started in the eighth, who finished 14th. Martin went on to helm the European Championships 2008 in quadruple sculls and rowed to sixth place.

2009 Martin stepped up to the first World Cup race in Banyoles with David Šain in the double sculls, the two reached the fourth place. In the second World Cup regatta in Munich won the Croatian sculls with David Šain, Martin Sinković, Damir Martin and Valent Sinković. In this line, the boat also won in the U23 World Championships, at the World Rowing Championships 2009, the Croats arrived as the fourth boat to the finish.

2010 won the four Croats in all three World Cup regattas and at the U23 World Championships. After a second place behind the boat at the Polish Rowing Championships 2010, the Croats won at the World Rowing Championships in New Zealand in 2010 the title. 2011 occupied the Croats in the World Cup places 2, 1 and 5, at the World Rowing Championships in 2011, the boat received the bronze medal behind the boats from Australia and Germany. 2012 won the Croatian sculls all three World Cup regattas, with the Olympic Games in London, he won the silver medal behind the German boat.

The World Rowing Championships 2013 in Chungju, he won gold, ahead of Germany and the United Kingdom.
