Damon Leitch

Damon Leitch (born 23 December 1992, Invercargill ) is a New Zealand racing driver. He started in 2011 and 2012 in the Toyota Racing Series.

Career

Leitch began his motor racing career at the age of eight years in karting. In 2007 he moved to Formula racing in the New Zealand Formula Ford, who first took part in only three races and finished 23rd in the driver standings. In the next season, Leitch improved to tenth place in the driver standings. In addition, he finished sixth in the Formula Ford Championship of New Zealand's South Island. In the 2008/2009 season Leitch won a race in the New Zealand Formula Ford and finished fifth overall. The following season, he remained without victory, but still improved to fourth championship course. In addition, he graduated from in the season 2009/2010 guest starts in Formula Ford New Zealand's South Island.

2011 joined Leitch in the Toyota Racing Series, the highest single-seater racing series in New Zealand to Victory Motor Racing. With a third place as the best result, he finished the season in eighth place in the championship. Team Intern he lost the duel against Daniil Kwjat, who missed an event and finished fifth. 2012 graduated Leitch another season for Victory Motor Racing in the Toyota Racing Series. On the first weekend in his hometown of Invercargill, he scored with a second place had hitherto been his best placement and scored the most points at this event. He took over the lead of the championship. At the next event in Timaru his first victory followed in the Toyota Racing Series. While Leitch occurred in the first nine races always among the top ten drivers to the finish, scoring five podium finishes, he did not come in the last six races on the twelfth square. In the drivers' standings, he eventually finished third.

Damon Leitch younger brother Brendon Leitch is also a racing driver. Leitch was named after British racing driver Damon Hill.
