The Dampier Highway, formerly Karratha Dampier Road called, is a connecting road in the north- west of the Australian state of Western Australia. It connects the city of Dampier on the Northwest Coastal Highway near Karratha.
History
The road was completed in the late 1960s as a connection between the towns of Dampier and Karratha.
Course
The road branches south of Karratha from the North West Coastal Highway ( R1) to the north and passes through the center of Karratha. There it turns to the west and leaves the city. She turns to the northwest and ends after 39 km in Dampier at the intersection of Central Avenue and Church Road.
