Dampierre (Aube)

Dampierre is a commune with 291 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Aube department in the Champagne- Ardenne region; it belongs to the district of Troyes and Canton Ramerupt.

History

Dampierre is the ancestral seat of the House of Dampierre, which not only provided the matriarchs of the Bourbons and the House of Burgundy, but also a substantial part of the territorial foundations of these families.
