Dan Eggen
Dan Eggen ( born January 13, 1970 in Copenhagen, Denmark ) is a former Norwegian football player and current coach of the Norwegian women's soccer team Kolbotn IL. Away from football he acts as manager of the Norwegian rock band El Caco.
He is one of only six players in the history of the Norwegian Football Association, who were allowed to play for the national team, without ever having been with a local professional team under contract. During his career he participated, among others, two World Championships (1994 & 1998) and a European Championship ( 2000). In 2001 he played in the UEFA Cup final with Alavés against Liverpool.
Because of his exceptional career progression and his unconventional way of life for a professional player, he is considered one of the most intriguing figures in Norwegian football.

Club career
Career start in Norway
The son of a Norwegian and a Dane began his career in the youth of his home club Lyn Oslo. After he was denied for a professional player in Lyn breakthrough, he moved to the traditional IF Ready Oslo on, however was at this time in the insignificance of the fourth Norwegian league. After his move to Brøndby he made his debut on 11 August 1993 on surprising than in Norway relatively unknown player under coach Egil Olsen 's friendly against the Faroese national football team for the senior team.
