Dan LaCouture

Dan Lacouture ( born April 18, 1977 in Hyannis, Massachusetts) is an American professional ice hockey player who is since September 2010 Lørenskog IK of the GET ligaen under contract.

Career

Dan Lacouture was selected as the 29th player overall in the NHL Entry Draft in 1996 by the New York Islanders. In the National Hockey League he has since played for numerous teams. During the failed NHL season 2004/ 05 Lacouture first played for the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League. Then it pulled the Americans for the first time to Europe, where he played briefly for the Swiss club HC Davos. Subsequently, the Boston Bruins took him under contract. After he played a large part of the 2006/07 season with the Lowell Devils, the farm team of the New Jersey Devils in the American Hockey League, he made his way a second time in Switzerland. When HC Lugano he came only on 15 times in the season 2007/ 08, as he sat mostly as supernumerary foreigners in the stands. Previously, he had received a contract with the Anaheim Ducks, but this was resolved after Lacouture did not want to play for their farm team in Portland.

On October 6, 2008 Lacouture signed a one-year contract with the Carolina Hurricanes, which is valid also for their farm team, but joined in January 2009 in the Continental Hockey League to Barys Astana from Kazakhstan. After he could not find a new club in the summer of 2009, he was in November of the same year again committed by the Providence Bruins. In September 2010, Lacouture was obliged Lørenskog IK of the GET ligaen.
