Dan Neville

Dan Neville ( born December 8, 1946 at County Limerick ) is an Irish politician, member of the Fine Gael since 1997 and deputy in Dáil Éireann.

Neville's political career began in the Limerick County Council, which he was a member from 1985 to October 2003. He also belonged from 1992 to 1999 at the Mid - Western Health Board, the General Council of County Councils and the Association of Health Boards in Ireland as a member.

1989 Neville was elected to Seanad Éireann on the 19th and could his seat in the 20th Seanad Éireann reserve. In 1997 he succeeded after two failed attempts (1987 and 1992 ), to be elected to the Dáil Éireann. In the following elections Neville was able to defend his seat.

Neville is president of the Irish Association of Suicidology, an organization that is a member of the International Association for Suicide Prevention is, as well as Director of the Irish Palatine Association.

As Neville resigned in October 2003 and resigned his seat on the Limerick County Council, the vacant seat was re- occupied by his son, Tom Neville, who is also a member of the Fine Gael.
