Dan Sai District

Amphoe Dan Sai ( Thai: อำเภอ ด่านซ้าย ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the west of the province of Loei. The Loei Province is located in the western part of the Northeast region of Thailand, the Isaan.

Geography

Adjacent counties and regions are ( from east clockwise). Amphoe Phu Ruea in Loei province, Lom Kao and Khao Kho ( of Province Phetchabun, Nakhon Thai of Province Phitsanulok and Amphoe Na hao is again in Loei To the north the province Sayaburi the democratic people's Republic of Laos.

The source of Maenam Pasak ( Thai: แม่น้ำ ป่า สัก - Pasak River ) is located in the mountains in the eastern part of the county. A large part of the county is located in the National Park Phu Hin Rong Kla. To the southeast of the Phu Luang Wildlife Reserve is located (Phu Luang Wildlife Sanctuary ).

The county town of Dan Sai is in the upper end of a valley basin of one river, which flows near Pak Nam Man in the Heang, a tributary of the Mekong.

Attractions

  • Phra That Si Song Rak ( Thai: วัด พระ ธาตุ ศรี สอง รัก - about: Chedi of love of two nations, also called " Phra That Sri Song Hak " ) - Chedi in the Laotian style, built in 1516 jointly by the Thai and Laotian kings.

Management

Amphoe Dan Sai is divided into ten sub-districts ( tambon), which continued in 98 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Dan Sai ( เทศบาล ตำบล ด่านซ้าย ), consisting of parts of the tambon Dan Sai,
  • Si Song Rak ( เทศบาล ตำบล ศรี สอง รัก ), consisting of other parts of the tambon Dan Sai.

In addition, there are nine " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
