The company was founded in 1969 under the name of DMG, Inc.. The name changed to Diversified Mortgage Investors, Inc. in 1978. 1984, the company was eventually renamed the Danaher Corporation.
Danaher has become known in Germany by buying up the German company KaVo and Leica Microsystems. Meanwhile Danaher employs over 8,000 employees in Germany.
