Danbury is a city in Fairfield County in the U.S. state of Connecticut, United States, with 80 893 inhabitants ( 2010). The metropolitan area has a size of 114.7 km ².
History
Danbury was first settled in 1685 by eight families. During the Revolutionary War, the city was an important military depot. 1835, the Fairfield County Railroad was established, led by their rails Danbury. 1852 then opened the first railway line their traffic, now renamed the Danbury and Norwalk Railroad. From a 1928 rented land, known as Tucker 's Field was a small airfield for the local pilots. In modern times it was the Danbury Municipal Airport.

Sports
The Baseball Club of Danbury makes since 2004, alternating with the German Baseball Club Solingen Alligators a sports exchanges. There are tournaments organized and the players will stay with host families. The Danbury Trashers played ice hockey team from 2004 to 2006 in the United Hockey League.
