Dance in the Country

Dance in the Country ( Danse à la campagne ) is a painting by the French painter Pierre -Auguste Renoir from 1883. It is 130 × 90 cm tall and hangs in the Musée d' Orsay.

The picture shows a couple dancing, is one of three images with dancing couples of different social blank, the ordered, the art dealer Paul Durand- Ruel in Renoir to decorate his dining room. The painter took his new girlfriend Aline Charigot, whom he later married, and fellow artists Paul Lhôte to models for the scene in a middle-class garden restaurant.
