Dance notation

Movement notation is a writing system that allows to record the movements of the human body on paper.

The most moving writings have been developed for the ballet and ballroom dancing. Rudolf von Laban, however, also tried the movements of industrial workers to capture, in order to optimize the processes. The Labanotation claims for itself to be able to play all human movements from the handles of an assembly line worker to the movements of an astronaut in zero gravity.

Today, movements are often detected by the computer and recorded ( see Motion Detection).
