Daniel Bashiel Warner

Daniel Bashiel Warner ( born April 19, 1815 in Maryland, USA, † December 1, 1880 in Liberia) was the third President of Liberia. In 1847 he wrote the lyrics of the national anthem of Liberia.

Presidency

Warner reigned in the years 1864-1868. IN its main policy objectives is to involve the tribal cultures in the hinterland of Monrovia in the Liberian society and to integrate, so that from them emerge productive citizens belonged. For this, he organized the first expedition into the dense forests behind Monrovia with JK Anderson. He ruled Liberia from 4 January 1864 to 6 January 1868.
