Daniel Caspary
Daniel Caspary ( born April 4, 1976 in Karlsruhe ) is a German politician ( CDU) and since 2004 a member of the European Parliament. He was elected on the regional list of the CDU Baden- Württemberg ( Rank 2). He lives in the vineyard in the district of Karlsruhe. Caspary is married and has four children.
Education and work
Daniel Caspary passed his Abitur at Thomas-Mann -Gymnasium Stutensee, after which he served in the army (lieutenant in the reserve). He finished his studies at the University of Karlsruhe as a technical diploma in economics.
During his studies he worked as a personal assistant to the former Agricultural Minister of Baden- Württemberg and member of parliament Peter Hauk. Further stations Caspary professional career were JP Morgan ( Frankfurt and London), the collaboration with Gerhard Seiler at the University of Karlsruhe and authorized signatory at MVV Energie AG in Mannheim.
Political activities
Daniel Caspary was as a teenager in the Junge Union (JU ) is active. From 1999 to 2002 he was deputy chairman of the JU Baden -Württemberg, 2001-2008 District Chairman of the Junge Union Nordbaden. Since 2010, Caspary district chairman of the CDU is Karlsruhe country. Since July 2011 he has been member of the Presidium of the CDU Baden- Württemberg.
From 1999 to 2009 was a member of the City Council of Stutensee Caspary, first for the boy list Stutensee ( JLS) and after September 2004 for the CDU.
Since July 2004, Caspary is a Member of the European Parliament, where he is a member of the Group of the European People's Party. He is a member of the Committee on International Trade (INTA ), where his group coordinator. As a foreign trade policy spokesman of the group, he is also a member of the Group Executive Board. He is also a deputy in the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy ( ITRE ) and the Committee on Petitions ( PETI ). He is also working as an MEP member of the Committee on European Union Affairs of the German Bundestag.
Daniel Caspary turned on 7 June 2009 for re-election to the European Parliament. At No. 2 in the country list Baden -Württemberg, he was able to move back into Parliament. In April 2013 he was set up by the CDU Baden- Württemberg for the European elections in 2014.
In the 7th term of the European Parliament, he was, as it did in the previous term, the European Parliament rapporteur for the foreign trade strategy of the EU.
Caspary is also rapporteur of the legislative process for public procurement and the access of goods and services from third countries to the EU single market for public procurement.
In December 2009, Caspary was criticized because he asked in a letter to Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle after the past of Polish Advisory Council members in the Foundation Flight, Expulsion, Reconciliation, although the Foundation's advisory board has no Polish members.
In September 2011, Caspary was among the MEPs who witnessed the attacks on the Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai, India on site.
Political positions
Transatlantic Free Trade Agreement
During his work in the Committee on International Trade to Caspary committed to the completion of the transatlantic trade and investment agreement between the EU and the USA. So he called in March 2013, the event "Friends of TTIP " as an open platform for discussion in the European Parliament in life, in the framework of the transatlantic trade and investment agreements with representatives from politics, industry and civil society is controversial.

Since the year 2010, Caspary is a manufactured goods for an EU ban on imports of Chinese in prison camps ( Laogai ).
