Daniel Glattauer

Daniel Glattauer ( born May 19, 1960 in Vienna) is an Austrian writer.

Life and work

Daniel Glattauer grew in the 10th district of Vienna on favorites and visited the school on the territory Laa mountain. In 1978 he graduated and studied from 1979 education and art history. After graduating in 1985, he initially wrote about three years for the press and then moved to the newly founded daily newspaper Der Standard, where he was responsible from 1989 to 2009 for columns, court reports and feature articles.

Glattauer was known primarily for his columns under the symbol " dag ", which appeared in the so-called ones Kastl on the title page of the standard alternating with those of " rough" (Hans Rauscher ), in which he humorously of everyday life took on themselves. The standard editing, to which he belonged for 20 years, he left the appearance of his novel All seven waves. His novel The Christmas Dog was filmed in 2004 by Michael Keusch for television, his novel is why three years later under the direction of Harald Sicheritz for the movies.
