Daniel Gregory Mason

Daniel Gregory Mason ( born November 20, 1873 in Brookline, Massachusetts, † December 4, 1953 in Greenwich, Connecticut ) was an American composer.

The grandson of Lowell Mason studied at Harvard with John Knowles Paine, in Boston at Percy Goetschius and George Whitefield Chadwick and Vincent d' Indy in 1913 in Paris. Until 1942 he was Professor of Music at Columbia University in New York City.

Mason composed three symphonies, a piano and two string quartets, a violin and a clarinet sonata, piano and organ pieces and songs.
