Daniel Hugh Kelly

Daniel Hugh Kelly ( born August 10, 1952 in Elizabeth, New Jersey ) is an American actor.

Life

Kelly had his acting debut in 1981 in the television film Thin Ice. From 1978, he starred as Frank Ryan on the soap opera Ryan's Hope, by which he was known at the U.S. television audience. By 1981, he appeared in 491 episodes of the series. In 1982 he was on the side of Maud Adams and Dennis Franz regular on the police series Chicago Story, but were only 13 episodes produced. The following year, he starred opposite Dee Wallace in one of the main roles of the Stephen King adaptation Cujo. In 1983 he was awarded alongside Brian Keith co-starred in the TV series Hardcastle & McCormick, that made him internationally known. For the third season of the series, he wrote the script for the episode " A crazy story" The series itself was stopped in 1986 due to declining rate numbers. After several years in which he was mainly seen in guest appearances, he received in 1996 the title role of Noah Beckett in the series Second Noah, originated from the to 1997, 21 episodes in two seasons. In 1998, he appeared in the science fiction film Star Trek: Insurrection with. 2001 Kelly played the lead role of Ben Cartwright in the series Ponderosa, a remake of Bonanza. However, this was canceled after 20 episodes. It was followed by numerous series guest appearances and multiple roles in various films. From 2007 to 2009 he appeared as Colonel Winston Mayer in the soap opera Young and Passionate - on how life goes.

Kelly is married and has three children.
