With the harmony Ischdonat of 2002 was in the Second Bundesliga. 2005 and 2006, he could not prevent the descent of the Trier to the Oberliga. On 18 February 1998 Ischdonat was the tragic hero in the DFB Cup semi final match of the Trier against the then Bundesliga side MSV Duisburg. In the penalty shootout, he held the last regular penalty of MSV and so enabled the 4:4 compensation. After all field players had shot, the goalkeeper both teams had to play. The Duisburg Thomas Gill scored to 10:9 for MSV, Ischdonat missed.

After the descent of Trier from the Regional Ischdonat moved to the summer break 2006 Bundesliga 1 FSV Mainz 05, in which he was to fill in for the injured Christian Wetklo as a substitute goalkeeper behind regular keeper Dimo Wache. In the 2007 /08 season Ischdonat moved by injuries of guard and Wetklo between the posts. In six games, he allowed only three goals and played three times to zero. However, he showed in the second half also some uncertainties, so that the last season game on May 18, 2008, the last league use Ischdonats for Mainz remained. In the promotion season of 2008/ 09 was again Dimo Wache in goal.

After his contract at the end Mainz 05 in the summer of 2009 Ischdonat was initially without a club. End of December 2009, he was to end of season from FSV Frankfurt committed. When relegation second division he had to place himself behind goalkeeper Patric Klandt. For the 2010/11 season changed Ischdonat as goalkeeping coach and goalkeeper to the third division SV Sandhausen. There he was behind Frederic Lohe first again only goalkeeper. When he was sidelined due to injury after the fourth match day, Ischdonat came to his first three appearances for the SVS, but then had to give way to the fit-again Löhe. In the second half Ischdonat enjoyed the confidence of returning to Sandhausen coach Gerd Dais. He stood from the 25th Round by the end of the season in goal and came to a total of 17 appearances in the 38 league games. In the following season, he was then placed in the gate and remained a support when winning the third league championship, and thus the rise in the 2nd Bundesliga. In its place, the club engaged in summer 2011 with Uwe Naegele another goalkeeping coach. But Ischdonat got the option to return to this page after his playing career. This case occurred in the summer of 2013, when he finished his playing career and then joined the coaching staff.
