Daniel Jones (phonetician)

Daniel Jones ( born September 12, 1881 in London, † 4 December 1967 ) was an English phonetician, who mainly studied the phonetics of the English language.

Jones was the first phonetician, who described the Received Pronunciation comprehensively.
