Daniel Mesotitsch

Daniel Mesotitsch ( May 22nd, 1976 in Villach) is an Austrian biathlete.

Life and career

Since 1997, the tax collector operates biathlon and was in 2002 a member of the Austrian national team. Training is Mesotitsch by Reinhard Gösweiner. He lives in Hochfilzen and starts for Union Rosenbach. In 2002 he won his first single in Antholz World Cup race over 20 km. Eight years after he made his second World Cup victory, also in Antholz, in the 12.5 km pursuit. Furthermore there are four World Cup victories with the Austrian squadron to book.

In the Biathlon World Championships 2005 in Hochfilzen, he won together with Friedrich Pinter, Wolfgang Rottmann and Christoph Sumann the bronze medal in the 4 x 7.5 km relay competition the bronze medal. At the 2009 World Championships in Pyeongchang Daniel Mesotitsch fetched as first runner of the Austrian squadron together with Simon Eder, Landertinger and Christoph Sumann the silver medal. At the 2010 Winter Olympics, he won - again with Eder, Landertinger and Sumann - in the relay silver medal. Four years later, at the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014, he won the relay, again in the same occupation, the bronze medal.

In 2005 he received the Golden Medal of Merit of the Republic of Austria.
