Daniel Montenegro

Daniel Gastón Montenegro ( born December 28, 1979 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine footballer who has an Italian passport. Currently, the main active as an attacking midfielder Montenegro plays for Club America in the Mexican Primera División, the top division of the country.

In his native Montenegro is also known by his nickname Rolfi. His older brother Ariel is also an active professional football players.

Career

Career start in the home

Montenegro began his active career as a professional football player in 1997 in his native Argentina in the CA Huracán. There he was on 7 April 1997 in a 3-1 victory over the CA Velez Sarsfield his professional debut and completed up to the descent in the Primera B Nacional, the second- highest division of the country, 79 league games, scoring 19 goals. In 1999 he then moved to the league rivals CA Independiente, for whom he met seven times in 19 games. In Argentina, celebrated as a great offensive talent, greater international clubs were always attentive to the young, strong midfielder.

The time at Olympique Marseille

In the same year, when he had moved to Independiente, Montenegro transferred one more time. This time it went to France for Olympique Marseille in the Ligue 1 early on November 7, 1999 shortly after his contract signing, he came in a 1-1 home draw against AS Monaco to its only two -minute team debut. Three days later he played at times but a 1-1 draw against FC Nantes through the entire match times. Longer return to Argentina

In 2002, Montenegro signed a one -year contract with the club for which he was briefly active in the year 1999, the CA Independiente.
