Daniel Nielsen

Daniel Nielsen ( born October 31, 1980 in Herning ) is a Danish professional ice hockey player who stands since 2011 at the Hamburg Freezers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga under contract.

Career

Daniel Nielsen began his career as a hockey player at the Herning Blue Fox, for which he was active in the AL-Bank Ligaen 1998-2007. During this time he was with his team in the years 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2007 Danish champion and 2000 runner-up and 2002 third. In 2006 he was also elected to the All-Star team in the AL -Bank Ligaen. In addition, he was awarded in the 2006/07 season as the best player in the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen. He was then of Leksand IF from the HockeyAllsvenskan, the Swedish second division, committed. After he failed with the team in the Kvalserien the rise in the Elitserien, he returned after only one year after Herning back. With the team he was then in the 2008 /09 season again runner-up and 2011 for a fifth time Danish champion. In the years 2009 and 2011 he was again elected to the All-Star team in the AL -Bank Ligaen.

For the 2011/12 season Nielsen was engaged by the Hamburg Freezers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

Internationally

For Denmark, Nielsen took at junior level at the U18 Junior B European Championships in 1997 and 1998 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 1999 and 2000 in part. In the senior level, he stood in the squad of his country at the B World Cup 2002 part and the A World Championships in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Moreover, he played for Denmark in the qualifying tournament for the Olympic Winter Games Torino 2006 and Vancouver 2010.
