Daniel Petrie Jr.

Daniel M. Petrie Jr. ( born November 30, 1951) is a Canadian screenwriter, film director and film producer.

Life

Daniel M. Petrie Jr. is the son of Canadian director Daniel Petrie. After completing his studies from 1970 to 1975 University of Redlands, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology and creative writing, he began with the artist agency International Creative Management in the mailroom and work up to the agent high. From there, he made it with his writing partner Danilo Bach together the script for the action comedy Beverly Hills Cop - can I sell to the soluble case, definitely. Already with his debut screenplay he was in 1985 with an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay celebrate its biggest success.

Daniel M. Petrie Jr. is a member of the Writers Guild of America and was its president from 1997 to 1999. His wife Constance Petrie he met while working at ICM.
