Daniel Quare

Daniel Quare (* 1648 in Somersetshire, † 1724) was an English clockmaker from London.

Life

1671 joined Quare London Worshipful Company of Clockmakers and in 1708 was elected "Master". In addition to watches Daniel Quare Barometer and has built numerous mathematical tools. Watches by Daniel Quare belong to the Royal Collection at Buckingham Palace and Hampton Court Palace. In 1680 he developed the same time as Edward Barlow (* 1636 † 1716) a Viertelrepititionsmechanismus for pocket watches, for which he could apply for a patent in 1686.
