Daniel Wells (snooker player)

Daniel Wells ( born July 31, 1988 in Neath ) is a Welsh snooker player.

Career

Wells was very successful as a teenager, he reached the semifinals of the 2007 U -21 World Cup, was number 1 for Juniors in Wales and played for the Welsh Seniors selection. Then the was the first time Paul Hunter Scholarship awarded the World Snooker Association he was awarded, which enabled him to spend a year to train with professional players at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield.

The following DIOS tour he secured among other things, with a half and a quarter-final placing 6th in the overall standings, thus qualifying for the professional tour in 2008 /09. In his first year as a pro, he played quite successful in the qualifying rounds of the major tournaments and only narrowly missed taking part in the main round of the World Cup after a 9:10 defeat against Barry Hawkins. Even without attending a finals in a major tournament, he claimed his Main Tour place as 70th in the world rankings. In the following season, he was defeated, however, usually very early in the tournaments and rarely came up in the second round. He collected enough world ranking points, so he had to leave the professional tour.

His greatest success was Daniel Wells at the Paul Hunter Classic. 2010th As an amateur, he reached for the minor ranking tournament semi-final Also in Germany, he still managed in the same season at the German Masters 2011 for the first time, the main round of a full-fledged world ranking tournament, after he had defeated in the Wildcard round Liu Song.
